Our Name
On October 26, 2000, NKUMU FED FED was officially legalized. On July 18, 2011, the Minister of Territorial Administration of Cameroon granted it approval as a non-governmental organization (NGO). The organization is officially known as NKUMU FED FED NGO, hereinafter referred to as NKUMU FED FED (NFF).
Our motto is Solidarity and Progress.
The mission of NKUMU FED FED is to promote social and economic development through the empowerment of women, the girl child and vulnerable persons of rural communities.
Our Purpose
NKUMU FED FED is a non-governmental, apolitical, and non-profit networking organization that brings together female associations dedicated to fostering development by empowering girls and women in rural communities. Its mission is to enable their active participation in Cameroon’s socioeconomic progress.
Originally established in 1984 as a social group of Bali Nyonga sisters in Limbe, known as Fed Fed, the organization expanded to other towns across the country. In 1995, an umbrella body, NKUMU FED FED, was formed to oversee and coordinate the activities of various Fed Fed branches. Today, NKUMU FED FED comprises 15 branches—seven in Cameroon and eight in the diaspora.
Our Mission
To achieve its mission, NKUMU FED FED is committed to the following objectives:
- Education Access – Creating a conducive learning environment and providing necessary facilities to ensure disadvantaged children, particularly girls, receive quality education.
- Healthcare Support – Enhancing healthcare programs and strengthening facilities while offering support to people living with HIV/AIDS (PLWHA) to improve health conditions in rural communities.
- Human Rights Advocacy – Promoting and protecting human rights, with a focus on providing shelter and assistance to victims of abuse, especially in cases of child exploitation.
- Women’s Empowerment – Expanding women’s access to and control over resources by supporting economic initiatives and advocating for policies and programs that address both their immediate needs and long-term empowerment.
